I can recommend another mechanic.  His name is Steve Yankura and he owns and runs a garage called Titan Auto in Clinton, CT.  Steve's specialty is Saabs, but he's certainly talented enough to work on any car, especially european cars.  He is also an enthusiast and extremely technical.  I've known him over 11 years now and he did all the work on my previous car, a 1984 Saab 900.  Steve used to work as the head mechanic at several different Saab dealerships but decided to "go it alone" and open his own shop.  He's won various Saab technical awards and is a well know mechanic in the area, especially in the Saab community.  Since I've owned my Audi, Steve has done the following work:

1.)  Installed my Mintex Red Box brake pads(all around) and ATE Super Blue Racing brake fluid
2.)  installed my MTM exhaust
3.)  installed my K&N air filter

In the future I plan a brake upgrade and possibly the Audi lowering springs and I'll more than likely have Steve do the install, if necessary.

Anyway, just another "alternative" to bringing your car to the dealer!
